Dear Clients,
At the core of our mission is family and how we can help your dog to be the best four legged family member. Our pet parents, students, and team members are part of that family. The community we have built is what will get us through these uncertain times.
Here is an update on how we are keeping our family safe while we monitor news and recommendations relating to COVID-19.
I had an entirely different email prepared to send you that I wrote yesterday and now Gov. Newsom’s statewide order changes everything. We will continue to offer daycare but all boarding is cancelled. We offer services that allow our clients to work and that allows us to operate. We will offer daycare from 7 am to 7pm. You may postpone your package until the orders are lifted but know that we are here and practicing CDC/WHO recommendations and now Gov. Newsom’s statewide order requirements. Our standard kennel cleaning product is a broad-spectrum Bactericide, Virucide, and Fungicide.
Effective Friday, 3/20/20, we will adjust our operations as follows:
Hours and Operations
- We will be offering curb service to our clients for morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Call the office from the parking lot at 310-558-9037 and a kennel attendant will come get/bring your dog.
- Drop off hours are 7 am and 10 am.
- Pick up hours are between 4 pm and 7 pm.
- We will disinfect leashes, harnesses and gentle leaders daily with our disinfecting virucide cleaner.
- You may not drop off without a reservation as we have reduced staff hours and we must be able to plan accordingly. Your dog’s routine will be the same.
- We are switching to having an AM and PM crew on 3/23. Staff will only be working with their crew so that it minimizes potentially exposing the whole team if someone were to get sick.
- Group Classes are postponed until orders are lifted.
Private Training Sessions
- You can convert your private sessions to a remote video session.
- You can postpone private training until after city/state orders are lifted.
We have a few sessions set for today that we will keep on the calendar unless you choose to cancel. In person privates will stop effective 3/21/20.
- If you have an onsite private session, we will conduct them outside as much as is appropriate and if we do it inside, we are taking the following steps:
- Clients are asked to use hand sanitizer or wash hands upon entry.
- The tutoring room is being cleaned after each use with our disinfecting kennel cleaner.
- Sorry we won’t be shaking your hand or high fiving your training successes. We will praise you lavishly from 6 feet away while we practice social distancing.
- We ask that you send one person to the private and bring your phone to share the lesson with anyone at home so they can see the lessons and ask questions too.
Essential workers still reporting for work?
We have you covered if you are still headed in to work. If you are working, we don’t want you to also worry about your dog having care. Special single day rates available! No package needed, just make a reservation. Only for existing clients. Vaccines and fecal test requirements must still be met.
- $50 for an activity day care day
- $80 for a school day with a training session
Are you stuck at home and still need training help?
- Call us to set up a call or video lesson with your trainer.
- Use current sessions in as little as 30 minutes increments.
- Set up a session to learn some new trick or ways to keep your dog busy while you are all stuck at home.
How can you help?
- Call us if you want to prepay for your next package.
- Set up some daycare to get your dog out of the house.
- Let us know what you need, how can we help with your pet? Dog walking with a team member? A hike?
If possible, we hope you’ll continue to support “I Said Sit!” during this time. If are still at work and need help with you dog, we are here for you. I have had an outpouring of support from clients and am most grateful for every call and email. Thank you all so very much.
If you have any additional questions about our safety and sanitary procedures, or other concerns related to COVID-19 and city/state orders, please contact us.
Be well and stay safe,
Elisha and the team at “I Said Sit!” School for Dogs
