Pyramid Pan Dog Treats – The Hype is Real

Sometimes you just feel like baking. I had recently seen other web posts about these dog treats people are making using silicone baking pans. Well I got the urge to bake and I had to try it myself. My daughter enjoys making anything with me in the kitchen and she was extra excited that these were treats that she AND the dogs could enjoy. We had fun making them, my dogs loved them, my daughter loved them, and our students at ”I Said Sit!” enjoyed them too. Recipe is below! (Please enjoy the hilarious unscripted commentating in the video by my daughter)

The great features of these treats are as follow:

  • Super easy to make
  • Pan is simple to clean
  • All human grade ingredients
  • You make around 500 treats in one session. (That’s a lot of dog training sessions!)

You will need a silicone pyramid pan. You can buy them on Amazon for a great price.

Pyramid Pan Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipe

2 eggs, beaten
2 Tablespoons oil (I used canola)
1/2 cup peanut butter powder (I used “PBfit” peanut butter powder. The simple ingredient list of this powder is peanuts, coconut palm sugar, and salt.) Beware of products with the sweetener XYLITOL. It is toxic for dogs to consume it.
1/2 cup white flour
1/2 cup tapioca flour
1/2 cup water

I put all of this in my Vitamix blender to get it to a nice smooth consistency. You want it thin enough that it pours nicely into each little triangle on the mold. Pour about half the batter in the middle of the pan and spread it outwards. You don’t need a lot of batter to fill them. I ordered two pans and almost filled both with this recipe.

Use a spatula to smooth the batter around into the holes. I actually found this part very enjoyable. Nice perfectly filled little triangles…..very rewarding.

Bake at 325 degrees F for about 15 minutes. You know it is done when the treats plump up and the edges start to come away from the mold. Take out the sheets and let them cool for a few minutes. To get the treats out stretch the pan in both directions and they will start popping out. Then I rolled the pan so they all started falling in the middle.

Now you have a lot of tasty homemade dog treats! These will last a few days in a Ziploc or Tupperware. You can freeze them for later use, we didn’t have to since we had lots of hungry mouths to feed at “I Said Sit!” and my daughter was stealing these off the sheet while I was getting the treats out. They are little peanut butter soft chewy treats, try one. Clean up is easy, wash your blender well, and a quick scrub of the silicone sheets has then clean and ready to go for the next recipe.

Next flavor I am trying will be sardines and parmesan. I don’t know if my daughter will be a big fan, but I bet the dogs go crazy!!
